JVP Melbourne

One of the most satisfying things about blogging is discovering creative new brands like the following one. JVP Melbourne (founded by Jason Vincent Piperno) creates very flashy t-shirts/tees in bold colours and huge abstract graphics. From red roses over feathers to ancient historical scenes which were mirrored. A couple of the styles are almost all over prints, so they are closer to a pattern than to a graphic.  The only bad news we got is mostly everything is sold out! But we found the pieces so creative that we decided to share the brand!  We assumed that these were just normal cotton tees  but they’re polyester, which may explain the $100 price tags. That along with the face that the tees are very rare and limited. We look forward to seeing some more of their upcoming pieces. via Le3rd

Hedi Silmane Out at SLP?

After stirring things up earlier this year announcing that fashion house Yves Saint Laurent (YSL) would be changing its name to Saint Laurent Paris (SLP) for revamping and “branding purposes,” it now appears that it might be time for a change of scenery for the newly appointed creative director Hedi Slimane.

Slimane received less than great reviews for his first Saint Laurnet collcetion and he may now be forced to leave Los Angeles, where he lives and works as a photographer to return Paris, the brand’s headquarters.

“They’re only going to indulge him for one more season with this LA thing and if he doesn’t turn out a tremendous collection, they’re going to summon him back to Paris or end his contract,” predicted one fashion consultant.Saint Laurent Paris CEO Paul Deneve, however, recently said that Slimane — who YSL took a risk in hiring as he hadn’t worked for a major design house since leaving Dior in 2007 — was brought in for his “very clear vision for the house.”

Earlier this week it was announced that Jean Paul Gaultier & Ittierre will collaborated for the new streetwear collection designed by the French couturier.

In a press release, the two companies announced the signing of two license agreements for the production and international distribution of the Jean Paul Gautier’s menswear collection and the management of the new Jean Paul Gaultier streetwear line for men and women.

“Starting autumn-winter 2013/2014, Ittierre will handle the development of the Jean Paul Gaultier men’s collection, which will be presented January 17 at the Paris men’s fashion shows. Starting in spring-summer 2014, the group will manage a new Streetwear Jean Paul Gaultier streetwear line for men and women, which will be presented in June 2013,” the statement said.

The unnamed brand is expected to arrive in Spring 2014. Stay tuned!

“I might wear black for a year straight” (En Noir)

In 2012 there was an abundance of black leather on display throughout the fashion world, but no brand received more hype than En Noir. Whats all the hype about? Well when fashion role models throughout the entire hip hop community are rocking their pieces, from ASAP Rocky, to G.O.O.D. Music’s Big Sean and Pusha-T to everyone’s favorite Kanye West. And if you have yet to notice, if Kanye is being spotted wearing something the whole world is soon to follow. Same with En Noir. Of course to no ones surprise they’re extremely pricey as simple waxed tees start at $150 and jackets reach up to $1500 smh. They have a lot of graphic style pieces but leather garments may be the only thing worth purchasing.

Check out they video below and their collection after the break.
